FAQs

  • Plenty of people start out DIY’ing their accounts and tax returns, but it’s very easy to overpay tax or miss deadlines. I specialise in helping small businesses, sole traders and limited company directors get everything set up properly. From bookkeeping to self assessment and corporation tax and company accounts etc, so you stay compliant with HMRC and don’t pay more tax than you need to.

  • Yes. I prepare self assessment tax returns for self-employed people, landlords, high earners and limited company directors. I’ll check your income and expenses, make sure you claim all the reliefs you’re entitled to, and file your tax return online with HMRC so you know exactly what to pay and when.

  • Ideally before you start trading. I can help you decide if a limited company is right for you, set up the company, register for corporation tax, payroll and VAT if needed, and show you how to pay yourself tax-efficiently through salary and dividends. Getting it right from day one avoids expensive fixes later on.

  • That’s a big part of what I do. I’ll review your director salary and dividends, pension contributions, allowable expenses and any other income you have. The goal is to create a tax-efficient plan that keeps you compliant but means you’re not overpaying tax unnecessarily.

  • Switching accountants is much easier than most people think. You just need to let them know you’re moving, and I take care of the rest.

  • Yes- I work with influencers, content creators, beauty professionals and other online business owners. I can help you with things like tracking brand deals, ad and affiliate income, understanding when gifting counts as taxable income, and staying on top of self assessment or limited company accounts.

  • Yes. I can take bookkeeping off your plate completely, or we can share the work. For example, you raise your sales invoices and I reconcile the bank and prepare VAT returns and year-end accounts. I’m a Xero & FreeAgent partner, so I’ll also help you set up your accounting software properly.

  • Definitely. I work with UK clients remotely using cloud accounting software, secure document portals and have online calls. As long as you’re UK-tax resident and your business is UK-based, we can work together wherever you live.

  • Yes. For limited companies I can register you as an employer, run monthly payroll for directors and staff, submit RTI reports to HMRC and advise on a tax-efficient salary and dividend split.

  • Yes, I often help new clients who are a bit behind or worried about HMRC letters. I can bring your bookkeeping up to date, file outstanding self assessment or company returns where possible and discuss a payment plan or Time To Pay arrangement with HMRC if needed.

  • Most of my clients (certainly limited co.s) use Xero or FreeAgent. I’ll recommend the best option based on whether you’re a sole trader, limited company or landlord, and I can set it up for you, connect your bank feeds and show you exactly what to do.
